Here is my suggestion for this Thursday. Go do yoga! Lately I’ve been obsessed with yoga. Back in April my friend Payton and I started doing P90X together. On the DVDs there is a yoga portion. I fell IN LOVE! We however, didn’t finish our P90X, but how lucky did we get that there is a yoga studio in town now.
When Summer from Yama Yoga Studio (www.yamayoga.info) contacted us about taking pictures I was super excited. Our primary business is weddings, but I love getting to be creative in different ways, and this was for sure something different and awesome. If you are in the Canton area go check out Yama Yoga!
My favorite past time of summer. Baseball. Most importantly, the Texas Rangers. I’ve been going to Ranger games since I can was I guess 6. I can remember my love for all things Rangers. Mainly Nolan Ryan and Ivan “Pudge” Rodriguez. What Texas girl wasn’t in love with Pudge? Let me re-state that. What Texas girl isn’t STILL in love with Pudge! Ok, I could go on with that for ever. I’ll spare you.
Our friends Taylor & Kyle came home last week. Kyle is in medical school in Dominica. I couldn’t be more proud of him, but the fact that one of my closest friends lives like a million miles away, where they don’t have cell phones, just sucks. Yes, it sucks. BUT, they will be home again soon, and he only has about 8 more months on the island. That being said, they are home now. Of course one of the first things you want to do is a Ranger game. Corri (Taylor’s little sister) got us a suite! Of all the Ranger games, I’ve never been to a suite and now I’m in love.
One of the reason I’m in love with suites, goes back to the title. Hot Dogs. While my quest to being a vegetarian is a work in progress, a Ranger game always gets the best of me. I can go without meat for weeks, and then BAM, there’s a hot dog. I of course just had one, so I only got off track once. I feel ok with this, as I’m doing better this week. :) All of this being said, here are a couple pictures from our night.
I love the Rangers…and of course Hot Dogs.

…a little something like this. Most of the people that read my blog know me. Most of you have known me pretty much my whole existence. And for the few of you that know pretty much everything about me, you have known that photography has always been a part of my life. I’ve always known what I wanted to do, and for the last couple of years I’ve put all of that hard work into effect. However, at times I felt very scattered. I felt pulled from one place to the next and most of the time things didn’t get done like I wanted them done. This being said, all of that has changed.
Over the last 4 days, a wonderful photographer by the name of Jasmine Star (www.jasminestarblog.com or www.jasmine-star.net) did an online workshop. Pretty much the most extensive thing that a photographer can do. She put herself out there for all the world to see. We saw her mistakes, we saw her vulnerability, but most of all we saw her courage. Most people think being a photographer is the easiest job in the world. I’m not going to lie and say it’s the hardest or dirtiest, because you don’t see us featured on the “Dirtiest Jobs” TV show, but our job is one of the most important. I say this with confidence because I’ve been told how much people have loved my images time and time again. All of this being said, Jasmine proved to me this week that I can do anything I put my mind too. Yes, this something that my parents preached to me, but sometimes it takes someone who is doing the same thing as you, to show you that you can also do this. My dreams are huge, but there is no reason I can’t reach them.
So a big shout out goes to Jasmine Star, for just being that, Jasmine Star. It’s nice to see such a good person succeed in life. It’s nice to know that this world isn’t full of haters (yep, I just said haters), and it’s nice to know that me being me, is a good thing.
I didn’t want to post without an image, but with the post being about Jasmine, I didn’t want to post one of my images either. With that being said, this image below is taken by Jasmine Star. Obviously you see the website on the image.
So timeless and beautiful…Love Love Love.
I’ll leave the blog with this, Carpe Diem. Get it kids…this is your life. What are you waiting for?
